We use a Satin canvas for the most crisp and durable print available

We use standard international sizing on the A-Canvas prints. You can just google A Sizes.

This means exactly what it says. You receive your canvas and you can hang it immediately on any hook anywhere.

Our standard is a 20mm pine wood frame. 50mm Hardwood frames are available on special request and on a quote basis.

Orders and Shipping

Off course! We are based in Booysens, Pretoria. Just let us know if this would suit you better.

We ensure the safest methods available. You can either request a Direct Payment, an invoice with our banking details will then be mailed to you.

Or pay with Payfast. Instant EFT enables buyers to make payments with traditional internet banking with SA’s four biggest banks. The electronic funds transfer (EFT) gets verified instantly. No two day waiting period, no proof of payment required and no disclosing of financial information.

For sure we do! We use either Courier Guy or PostNet, whichever you prefer. Inside of Gauteng courier will R120. Out side of Gauteng the courier will starts from R120 depending on size of order and outlying area. We will send you a quote, once we are ready to dispatch, from the Courier Company, if the Courier charge is over R120, the Courier will only be booked once the difference has been paid and cleared into our account.
PostNet is R99. If the volume metric comes to 5kg or less the cost will be R99 for this service, for every volume metric kilogram over 5kg it will be R20 extra. This will be quoted to you before we send the parcel, no parcel will be booked before the whole courier cost isn’t paid for.


The size of the image required all depends on the size canvas you want to print. For small canvas prints up to size A2 or A1, an image that is at a size of 500kb – 1MB is usually perfectly fine. For larger prints, from size A1 and up, anything over 1MB – 2MB or larger is acceptable.

The resolution of the image is also very important. An image with 100dpi, at the actual size, will be suitable for smaller canvas printing. The higher the resolution of the image, the more defined the quality will be, so if you are able to provide an image with a high resolution of 300dpi then that is great.

To check the size and resolution of an image you need to save it to your PC, right click on it, select properties and then you will find the image size under the ‘general’ tab and resolution and image dimensions under the ‘details’ tab.

On our website you can click on the “Image Upload” Menu. From there you just fill in the form, remember your Order Number as File Name, click on the big blue PLUS sign and select your pics. NB!! RENAME YOU PICS BEFORE HAND TO THE DESIRED PRINT SIZE YOU REQUIRE.

Refunds and Returns

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.


The products sold by Purple Acorn Canvasses are custom printed and therefore not eligible for returns. The costs associated with returning items to Purple Acorn Canvasses will solely be the responsibility of the customer.

However, if the printed items are defective due to the printing process or if they were damaged during shipping, the order may be eligible for a refund once Purple Acorn Canvasses was afforded the opportunity to inspect and maybe rectify the problem.

You should inspect all products as soon as you get your order. If any product is defective or appears to have been damaged during shipping, you may contact our Support team for help in resolving the issue by email at orders@purpleacorn.co.za or phone at 082 905 3197. Include your order number, contact information and proof of the defects/damage. Issues must be raised within 7 days from the date you receive it (or the date it was scheduled to arrive).

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs if you choose to return any items. Shipping costs are non-refundable.


Once we receive your email regarding issues with your order, we will inspect the product and notify you that we have received your request for refund. We may contact you to clarify the issues raised with your order.

If a return is approved, Purple Acorn Canvasses may reprint the order at no additional cost to the customer rather than issuing a refund or If a refund is approved, we will initiate a refund payment within 14 days, are subject to managements final approval and 3% Payfast fees. (If you didn’t EFT to us initially)

In the case of a return or refund, we reserve the right to have you return the original order before reprinting or refunding your order.


Cancellation of orders may be made initially by telephone contact, or e-mail, however, following this, Purple Acorn Canvasses will need formal notification in writing to the company’s email address (orders@purpleacorn.co.za). The client will then be invoiced for all work completed that will have been made at the time of first ordering. The balance of monies due must be paid within 7 days. Please note: any cancellation which is not formally confirmed in writing and received by Purple Acorn Canvasses within 7 days of such instruction being issued, will be liable for the full quoted cost of the project.

Certain circumstances are beyond our control and are not covered by this guarantee. Please note that we cannot be responsible for returns and refunds as a result of errors made by you, as specified in the Terms and Conditions.
